Scientific bone names

 

Last week in science we looked at the human skeleton and we labelled it. This week we are  labelling the skeleton using their scientific names so instead of skull we will use the scientific name cranium.

Children's Mental Health Week Story - The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse - Part 1

This week is Children's Mental Health week. Over the week I will be putting some different ideas up to help teach you what to do when you are finding life tough! 

I thought this book would be perfect for Children's Mental Health week it is called The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse. It is written and illustrated by Charlie Mackesy. The story is made up of lots of pictures and tries to teach us some important life lessons. I wonder what you will learn...

My favourite quote from part one is 

"What do you think is the biggest waste of time?" 

"Comparing yourself to others." said the mole.

I often compare myself to others and this isn't a good thing! I need to be more like the mole and do my best!

Reading gives us someplace to go...

Many of us are missing our family and friends! We need to find ways to help take our mind away from the worries and the people we are missing. 

Reading is a great way to take us away from it all. We can visit other countries, places we have always wanted to visit or even just places we are missing at the moment! 

Get your book out and travel off to a far off place and remember we will be seeing these people and places soon (well as soon as we are told it is safe)!
